BEING A COMMUNIQUÉ OF KWARA MUST SURVIVE HELD ON 06 OCT, 2019.
As we all know that Kwara belongs to all of us irrespective of religion, cultural diversity, tribe and political differences, its a duty of everyone to join hands with the state government to establish, produce and achieve good governance that will have direct impact on the lives of ordinary citizens.
.
However, we need to commend governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq on the achievements sofar with some fantastic programmes rolling out for kwarans which has started touching the life of citizens since his inception as the executive governor of kwara state.
Without being an ingrate, bias or deceive, the governor is working to achieve better kwara for all categories. Meanwhile, our assessment is not for praising or raining accolades but to encourage him to do more and if he doesn't, we are ready to attack him with all our forces.
Sir, recently after Kwara State House of Assembly pronouncement on the move to sack the General Manager of Kwara State Television Authority, our NGO embarked on undiluted and exclusive investigation on why the state owned and controlled television station can not beat the records of the pioneer management and we were made to realized that, government is the cause. WHY? HOW CAN GOVERNEMNT APPOINT POLITICIAN TO HEAD MEDIA HOUSE?
The station which was established after due consultation and appropriate studies came alive on Wednesday March 12, 1997 by the third civilian governor, Alhaji Sa'aba Lafiaji after complete two decades of findings and feasibility which began on 1977.
The station firstly headed by the serving Director General of Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) Alhaji Modibbo Ishaq Kawu, an experienced journalist and as at the time, the reception of the station reached Oyo, Ekiti, Niger, Kogi, Osun and Ondo with the just 30 kilowatts transmitter and served as a means of promoting government activities.
We discovered that the then government gave the management a free hand to operate and generate revenue but with the involvement of government by appointing politician most especially inexperience hand to man the affairs of the station, our dearly television had started crawling.
Its time for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq to change the perception by place the task on the insider shoulder who have a very clean record and ready to uplift the station from semi-analog to full digital station.
The findings reveled that the station is blessed with experts but the situation at hand could not allow them to perform up to expectation.
