Kwara Budget Captures Media Houses To Ensure Global practices

The Kwara State Government says it has captured the three Media Houses owned by it in this year's budget to ensure effective performance at meeting Global practice mechanism.

The State Commissioner for Communication, Alhaji Murtala Olanrewaju stated this today in Ilorin, while featuring on a radio program.

Alhaji Olanrewaju said on assumption of office of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq met a completely dilapidated information dissemination system as the three Media Houses were nothing to go by.

The Commissioner assured that once the budget is passed and signed into law, work would commence in earnest to bring life into the media outfits.

On whether the government is planning to lay off workers in the media houses, the Commissioner stated that the present administration of AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is not having it in mind to inflict suffering on anybody as there is no plans to disengage anyone.

Alhaji Olanrewaju also stated that all ethnic groups making up the state would have a fair share of the dividends of democracy as the Governor had already commenced addressing dilapidated infrastructure in Kwara North axis of the state.

Answering questions about payment of salaries, Alhaji Murtala Olanrewaju said since the inception of the present administration in the state, no worker was being owed and the issue of half salaries was over in the state under AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration.
