Kwara State Commissioner of Finance Nominated to represent North Central in National Steering Committee.

Kwara State Commissioner of Finance and Planning, Honourable (Mrs.) Oyeyemi Olasumbo Florence was earlier today nominated to represent the North Central Zone as a member in the National Steering Committee of the States Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability (SFTAS). The commissioner was nominated and inaugurated in the boardroom of Federal of Ministry of Finance by Minister of Finance, Hajia Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed.

The development objectives of SFTAS is aimed at strengthening the Fiscal Transparency, Accountability, and Sustainability in the participating states. It is a mix of two components that support Nigerian states to achieve the key result areas of the program which is; a performance-based financing component for state government and a technical assistance component for states and selected national-level institutions.

Mrs Oyeyemi immediately after the inauguration responded that her commitment and dedication to see Kwara and Nigeria as a whole at the top level will be an inspiration for her in carrying out the assignments of the committee. She concluded by appreciating the Governor of Kwara state, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who found her worthy to serve the state and the Federal Ministry of Finance for believing in her capability to contribute her quota in moving the country forward.

The state Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is leading from the front and this nomination of his Commissioner of Finance and Planning is a further confirmation of the entrenched transparency and accountability in governance that now benefits the working population in the state.
