Easter: Oloriegbe Charges Christians on Modest Celebration,  Prayer For The Nation

The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe has charged the Christian Faithful to observe the celebration of the Easter festivity in modesty, as well as use this auspicious occasion to offer prayers for the Nation.

Oloriegbe in his felicitation message to the Christendom congratulates the Christ-adherents for the opportunity of witnessing another Easter celebration, enjoining them to imbibe the lessons inherent in the occasion.

"Easter teaches us selflessness as demonstrated by Jesus Christ (Prophet Issa) in his acts, teachings and deeds. This period provides us with greater opportunity to live by the golden messages preached by him in his lifetime most importantly, the message of altruism and living for others.

" The world all over is in state of distress as a result of the global pandemic (COVID-19) which has grounded all activities we may think of, religion inclusive. It is therefore imperative we use an auspicious occasion like this to seek divine intervention.

" I charge you our Christian brethren to pray for the world in order to win the war against this universal enemy. While celebrating, let us be modest as this is not the time for ostentation and flamboyancy. This is a good time to extend the hands of kindness to the needy amongst us. This is the perfect time to be our brother's keeper as scripturally enjoined.

" While enjoying the festivity mood, we should also forget not to observe all the preventive measures most importantly social-distancing as canvassed by the government.
