Abdulrazaq set to Revamp Esie-Museum to meet international standard

 Kwara State is indeed recovering from a retarded economic growth and development.

As Gov AbdulRazaq is speedily blocking the infrastructural gaps through policies, reforms and programs in a bid to create the right ambience for economic prosperity in the state.

It was against this backdrop that the Governor on assumption of office under the state's Ministry of Works and Transport embarked on urban renewal initiative project targeted at fixing Kwara's poor road networks across the nooks and crannies of the state.

One of Gov. Abdulrazaq blueprint was reviving tourism industry in other to  improve IGR capacity which it is believe that good infrastructural facilities should be put in place for seamless operations after decades of neglect.


Esie National Museum in Irepodun local government area of the state is one of such national treasures that have been abandoned by successive governments in the state as the first museum in Nigeria continued to be ignored.


Esie Museum in one of those  tourist site that could actually attract Africa to its natural soapstones, reputed to have the largest soapstones collection in the world.

Governor AbdulRazaq has visited the site for on the spot assessment and decried the conditions of the art facility that was established in 1945.

The Governor immediately directed the construction of the road that leads to the museum which has been abandoned for decades, hampering socio-economic activities and denying intending tourists from visiting the human figures.

Following the Governor's directive, the state Ministry of Works and Transport under the supervision of Engr.Rotimi Iliasu has mobilised contractors to the construction site that will afford both the tourists and the locals to catch a glimpse of one of the wonders of the world.

The Esie National Museum road is now at 98 percent completion stage with the contractors now laying asphalt on the road that will in no distant future open up Kwara for tourists from different parts of the world, making Kwara a choice destination for potential investors in the tourism industry and increase the state's internally generated revenue.
