Having good education, field exposure/experience, professionalism, integrity, honesty, excellent research and presentation skills with sound relationship management are traits common among successful mining engineers worldwide. Interestingly,  Adeniyi Samuel Adebanjo, a Nigeria-born mining engineer possesses all these attributes and cap it with humility and high sense of humour.

Adeniyi  was born  October 23 1968 to the  prestigious Adeniyi family of Irepodun/Ifelodun local government area, Ekiti State in South West Nigeria. The charisma of the mining engineer exemplifies a man with good upbringing and pedigree.

Like a building project, foundation is key and Adeniyi, in the last three decades, has been acquiring knowledge to be successful in his chosen field. His voyage into the lucrative mining industry started at Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti where he earned National Diploma in Mining Engineering and later moved to Kwara State Polytechnic in 1992  for a Higher National Diploma (HND) in the course. In his further search for knowledge, he was at the  Federal University of Technology Akure for a two-year Postgraduate Diploma in Mining Engineering.

Adeniyi's excellent performance in higher institution prompted him to undergo training at General Endeavors Ltd, Ondo for a  four- month Students Industrial Work   Experience Scheme (SIWES) as a drilling supervisor where he was saddled with the responsibility of overseeing
surface drilling operations using the crawler mounted drill and compressor-Altas copoo XA120.

The Ekiti-born mining guru was groomed professionally during the one-year NYSC mandatory national.assignemnt
at Research and Development Division of the  Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Port Harcourt. He served as sedimentologist trainee conducting sedimentology and paleontology studies for organization. During his days at NNPC, Adeniyi attended trainings on General Safety Precautions in Nigerian Industries and Modern Drilling Techniques and Application in Oil & Gas.

Upon completing the National service,  the mining expert  joined Dewol Nigeria Limited in 1996 and given the task of traversing, pitting, sampling, samples preparation and mining of Feldspar mineral at Gbegbinlawo and Tibo in Abeokuta North and mining of clay, shale gypsum at Papalanto in Ewekoro Local Government, Ogun State.

Adeniyi Samuel Adebanjo worked with various mining companies including PureChem Industries Limited, Tropical Mines Limited Lagos and others, prior to joining Bond Investment and Holdings Limited in 2005 to
monitor revenue generation for Federal Government in mineral and Solid Development in Ogun state. He was also responsible for assessment of quarries, prompt payment of royalties and issuing of receipt/invoice.

The mining engineer is currently working at  Intrachem Nigeria Ltd where he handles production and sales of energy materials, Offering Technical Assistance to Nigerian companies in energy industry, blasting activities as well as distribution of energy materials to quarries and oil companies across Nigeria.

Adebanjo had led team of Mining Engineers for
Mapping preparation and transferring of field information Pitting of gravel layer, logging, panning along the streams and within traps.

He is also grounded in road surveying and construction, reclamation, traversing with general morphology sample preparation. The mining expert has worked extensively on geological investigation of mineral around in Ogun, Lagos and Osun states among  others across Nigeria.

Adebanjo is not only rooted in mining but he  is as well as grounded in
Occupational Safety, Project Management, Human Resources Management and Strategic Business Management. He has attended executive trainings in Nigeria, other African Nations and London. Some of the trainings include; Project Management Appreciation Course at Roger Tomlinson London,  Advanced Certificate in Occupational Safety Management System and Industrial/oil field health safety and Environmental Management Appreciation.


He is a member of reputable professional bodies like Institute of Planning in Nigeria, Nigeria Society of Mining Engineers, Nigeria Mining and Geologist Society,  Council of Registered Mining Engineers and Geologists and International Society of Explosives Engineers.

Adeniyi has visited many countries to gain more knowledge in his chosen field. Some of these countries he visited recently for professional assignments and business are United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Seychelles, Ghana and Kenya.

Apart from making waves in mining industry, Adebanjo has consistently show kindness to the needy in the society with his philosophy that *making others happy is major source of unending happiness*. He has been giving back to the society by assisting vulnerable through education support, taking care of medical bills and touching lives of the poor in order to give them better. Generosity is fasting becoming part of his name. Colleagues, neighbours, friends and family members affirmed that Adebanjo is a cheering giver and unrelenting helper of the needy. He is always willing to help.

Furthermore, his indelible contributions have become reference point for members of all the alumni associations he partake in. The Philanthropist seems to align with Warren Buffest, an American investor, business tycoon, and philanthropist, who is the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway that said: ''If you're in the luckiest 1% of humanity, you owe it to the rest of humanity to think about the other 99%''
