Chairman Salman Shagaya Foundation Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya has congratulated the faithful on the just-concluded Ramadan as he enjoined them to remain steadfast in the act of worship like they were during the Holy Month.
In a congratulatory statement issued by the Foundation's press secretary Ibraheem Abdullateef, he also enjoined Muslims all over the world, especially Nigeria to call on God to cleanse the world of hardship and pandemic on the auspicious occasion of this year's Eid.
Shagaya said we should profess love and extend support to everyone around regardless of the hard times. He added that people should not disengage from social relations etiquette such as sharing gifts and food items with the neighbors and vulnerable to deepens humanity.
"It is cheering that we are alive to witness the end of Ramadan. May Allah accept our prayers as an act of worship. As a people, we should not forget the good virtues imbibed during the Holy month by living by them now and always. There should be no chosen time for good and as such, we should strive every day of our lives to be better morally and spiritually.
"As the world searches for peace and stability, Nigerians in particular regardless of religious sentiments should seize the grace of this moment to bless the nation to be peaceful and progressive. That is more like a sacrifice expected of us now in support of the authorities aside from adhering to all the medical advisories, in order to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic in due time. So we are enjoined to radiate warmth and kindness, give zakat to the vulnerable, and other kinds of social relations within the limit of decency and responsibility. May I express my felicitations to my fellow countrymen", he concluded.
