Gov AbdulRazaq get Commendations from NASU-Aviation College Ilorin Over Financial Intervention

Earlier Today, Hon.Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Hajiya Sa'adatu Modibbo Kawu, received members of the   Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) of the International Aviation College Ilorin, led by Comrade Abdullahi AbdulRahman, who came to express  appreciation of the staff of the college to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and MOTEST, for returning the means of livelihood of 80% of staff, who had previously been sent on the traumatic journey of 'compulsory sit at home without pay', when the college was financially grounded from August  2018 to June 2019.
In July 2019, the present administration directed that the staff be recalled, and financial intervention approved, to keep the college running.

They explained that the staff of the college were made to go on compulsory leave for 11 sad months in the last dispensation; similarly, the College Aviation Training Certificate was suspended, and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, closed down the college.

The spokesperson said "though we have gone on air, to express our appreciation for not allowing the bad memories of sit-at-home-without-pay to happen again, we deem it proper to visit you, as we had never come close to anyone in government, in our 10 years of working with the college. What we did in the past, was to swallow whatever was thrown at us, without opportunity to dialogue"
The secretary, Comrade Bashirat Elelu, added that "we know that we will achieve our goals through liaison, dialogue  and cooperation; and we strongly believe that IAC under the supervision of MOTEST, will bring glory to the college, as we have seen, with the support of the administration that returned us to work, and the recent approach to issues  brought by the Ministry".
