Gov AbdulRazaq @ One: Woli, Abdulsalam and Oladele emerged Winners of 9japarrot's Essay Competition

ESSAY CONTEST OUTCOME

29-05-2020

Hello Kwarans,

I bring to you tiding of harmonious greetings from the leadership and members of 9japarrot.
Recall that we advertised an essay competition on our various social media handles dated May 22nd 2920 Through May 27th, 2020, Sponsored by the Special Assistant on New Media to the executive Governor of Kwara State, Mr Fafoluyi Olayinka M. Solace in commemoration of the May 29 celebration that heralds one year in office of the current administration. Our medium proudly hosted it, and rolled out modalities for the contest.

The contest was declared open on the 22nd of May, 2020, and participants were required to write on "One year after "O to ge": How far; How well?" in not more than 500 words. Submissions were thereafter closed on the 27th of May, 2020.

Within the time limit granted for submission, we received a couple of entries from enthusiastic Kwarans totalling 27. We must say that most of these entries were brilliant and excellent. Most of the participants were youths, and it simply rekindled our hope that there is a future for the youths in Kwara State.

We are particularly marvelled at the effort of Ms Opoola Olaitan Temitope, an SS3 student of Adeola College, Offa. Despite competing with people of higher educational qualifications, she wrote well and beautifully too. Most of the entries we received were also superb. But as we all know, in every competition, some people will win; and others will lose. There's always a room for subsequent trial.

After due review of all entries by members of our panel, we resolved to pick 3 best submissions as winners of the essay contest. No judgement is perfect, but we made the selection after a thorough and painstaking process. The finalists are as follows:

1. Woli Bukola Kafilah from Offa LGA (Winner).

2. Abdulsalam Ibrahim Kehinde from Moro LGA (1st Runner-up).

3. Oladele Abdulsalam from Ilorin West (2nd Runner-up).

These winners were ranked based on these considerations: construction of the English language, richness of content, paragraphing and image attached. We extends our unreserved appreciation to all the participants for their efforts and time invested to take kwara state to the culminate level of envy.
We congratulate the winners, and encourage them not to relent in their efforts. The motivation may be little, passion should keep them flying.

While we wish you a smooth sail, We keenly  appreciate the sponsor of the contest and members of the panel.

 Thank you all.

Signed:

9japarrot Online Management.
