The AbdulRazaq led Kwara state government under the rural-urban renewal initiative project has completed the construction of Secretariat/General Hospital and Central School roads in Lafiagi, the Headquarters of Edu local government area of the state.
Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr.Rotimi Iliasu confirmed the completion of the project that started only over a month ago after the contractors finished asphalt laying on the two linkage routes that is expected to ease movement of goods and services while boosting socio-economic activities in the area.
Since the turn of the year, the current administration has been working on massive infrastructural projects across critical sectors of the economy in a bid to bridge the wide infrastructural gap and enhance socio-economic growth and development of the state.
All constructions & rehabilitation projects in the state has created windows of opportunities for local artisans, businesses & industries following the Governor's directive to the supervising ministry to ensure materials to be used for all projects execution are locally sourced.
The patronage of local industries in the different communities where projects are currently ongoing is part of efforts by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to strengthen small and medium enterprises.
Governor AbdulRazaq has time and again reiterated his commitment to promoting local content development by engaging artisans and businesses in rural communities thereby reducing the rate of unemployment in the state.
The completion of the Secretariat/Hospital road linking Central School road is important to businesses, government officers and the locals who ply the route on a daily basis and will help boost economic activities in the town.
