Kwara State Government through its Taskforce on Tractorization today held an orientation for shortlisted Tractor Agents under the Farmers Support Programme in Bode-Sadu, headquarters of Moro local government area of the State.
This is an initiative of the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration which is coming as a rapid intervention at this planting season while government is working on other time-tested agricultural initiatives in a bid to come up with a holistic approach.
While addressing the agents, the Chairman of the Taskforce, Alhassan Aliyu emphasized the need for them to keep to all terms contained in the agreement document. He added agents are not to charge more than N10,000/hectare per operation.
Aliyu said that, the success of the tractor programme which is a leg in the Farmers Support Programme should you take precedent over any other interest.
The Director of Personnel for Moro local government, Alhaji Musbau Musa in his address appreciated the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for putting the farmers in a place of pride.
The brief ceremony had in attendance Technical Adviser on Agric, Abdulquawel Olododo; Senior Special Assistant on SDGs, Dr. Jemila Bio-Ibrahim and Senior Special Assistant on Community Intervention, Kayode Oyin-Zubair. It had other technical staff of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development who members of the Taskforce in attendance.
