Edo APC fumes, rejects Uzodinma-led committee

Edo APC fumes, rejects Uzodinma-led committee

Nothing seems to be certain for now in the APC, especially in Edo state - The APC chapter in the state has rejected the Hope Uzodinma-led committee

The state chapter claimed that the ruling party's NWC did not consult the National Executive Committee (NEC) before inaugurating the committee. The chairman of the All progressives Congress (APC) in Edo, Anslem Ojezua, has rejected the Hope Uzodinma-led committee recently inaugurated up by Hilliard Eta. Reacting to the creation of the committee by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC, Ojezua said that this will not be accepted because it was done at a time when the party was dealing with a lot of controversies, Daily Trust reports.

First, Ojezua noted that Victor Giadom was made the acting national chairman of the ruling party by court order. Edo 2020: Primary election will be transparent and fair - APC assures Obaseki Adams Oshiomhole, President Muhammadu Buhari and Hope Uzodinma Source: Facebook The APC boss in Edo added that the NWC did not get the consent of the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) before setting up the committee. He, therefore, went on to say that considering the situation, the Uzodinma-led committee cannot stand at the moment. His words: “In the light of the above, we have no option than to reject the Uzodinma-led committee.” Note that we earlier reported that Abiola Ajimobi, is the official recognized  national chairman of the APC, and  had taken some starting moves to save the ruling party from sudden disintegration.

Through Eta, Ajimobi on Wednesday, June 17, reversed the cancellation of the screening committee carried out by Victor Giadom, a self-acclaimed acting national chairman in place of Adams Oshiomhole. Moreover, the Ajimobi-led APC had appointed Uzodinma of Imo as the chairman of the Edo state governorship primary election.

Report reveals Reacting to Giadom's earlier move, the APC's National Working Committee (NWC) said he was not a member of the committee since his resignation of the position in a bid to contest as Rivers deputy governor in 2019.
