The Ohoro of Sha Oba Dr. Bamidele Adegbite and the entire residents of Shao community in Moro LGA of Kwara State have called the attention of the State Government and others to the destructive effects of the last night's rainstorm on the community.
Recall that there was a downpour, which was accompanied by a hurricane last night.
The incident, which damaged many elecrical poles and other individuals' property in Shao, has conditioned the community under indefinite total blackout.
Speaking on the incident, the Ohoro of Shao, Oba Dr. Bamidele Adegbite, described the disaster as unfortunate and unexpected, lamenting the socio-economic dangers the episode will cause the people of the community.
"Nobody thought the downpour would turn to a hurricane that would have caused wantom destruction in the community. It was unexpected, the heavy rain was over before the devil in storm took over and vandalised many things", said the monarch.
Oba Adegbite also noted that "the rainstorm ruined over twenty electrical poles and devastated many individuals' property."
The monarch then pleaded to the Executive Governor of the State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, philanthrophic individuals and agencies to earnestly come to the aid of this community.
He added that both the indigenes and the residents of Shao are looking on to His Excellency as they strongly throw their unalloyed support behind his wonderful Administration famed for unprecedented developmental projects.
Also commenting on the terrible event, the President, Shao Community Development Association, Arch. Ayo Bello, expressed displeasure over the ravaging rainstorm, saying it has paralysed many activities, which are instrumental in the economic life of the people of community.
Lauding the AbdulRazaq-led Administration on the on-going construction of a township road in Shao, Ayo-Bello tasked the Government on intervention on this catastrophic event and the other requests by the community.
