Mr Ahmed Rufai, a candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who was declared as winner of the by-election having scored 10,354 votes,which is the highest in the election has been officially swore in Yesterday 2nd of May 2020 by the Kwara State House of Assembly in Ilorin the State Capital.
Hon. Adam Rufai is to represent Patigi State Constituency in the House following his glorious victory at the bye- election conducted on August 14 after defeating his PDP counterpart , Adam Rufai representation is in replacement for the deceased Lawmaker, Hon. Ahmed Rufai.
Recalled that ; Mr Mohammed Salihu Yahaya and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) through their counsel, Ibn Mahmud Geo, challenged Ahmed Rufai Adam, of irregularities in writing his name and submission of false affidavit to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Court has however, adjourned the hearing to 11th of June 2020.
The House majority leader, Hon Magaji Olawoyin said the inauguration followed the declaration of Rufai as the winner of the Patigi bye-election by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
