2020 Net Campaign: Kwara Govt reiterates commitment to curb malaria, takes advocacy to Traditional Rulers




According to a press statement made available to 9japarrot by Mr.Falade Gbenga Tayo, the Press Secretary of the Kwara State Ministry of Health.

The statement reads;

The Honourable Commissioner for Health Dr Raji Razaq has today kick start the advocacy to the traditional leaders in Ilorin on the forthcoming 2020 Net campaign in Kwara State.

The Honourable Commissioner who was ably represented by the Program Manager Malaria  Elimination program Alhaji Abdullahi Nageri reiterate the commitment of the Executive Governnor of Kwara State Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to Curb Malaria in the State by reducing it to minimal level.

He said; "All relevant funds to make the Exercise a successful one has been released and the State is set to Kick-Start the distribution of Long lasting Insecticidal Net Soon"

He urged the traditioner leaders  to help sensitized the people of their Community on the Importance of the Insecticide treated Nets and  the need to use the Net as directed.

He also thanked the traditional leaders for taking their time to attend to the team for the Sensitization.

The Balogun Gambari of ilorin, Alhaji Adebayo Mohammed thanked the team for the visit and promised to disseminate the Information to his people. 

He thereby assured a peaceful Campaign in the Year 2020 within his territory.

The Chairman of the Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization Core Group Mr Femi Olatunbosun said this year Net Campaign is house-to-house Campaign and serious monitoring is needed from the traditional lerders.

In his Own response, the Magaji Are of Ilorin Alhaji Aremu Suberu appreciated the Executive Governor of Kwara State for the Net campaign exercise which is aimed at Eradicating Malaria in Kwara State at large.

Alhaji Aremu promised his unflinching support to the state government in making qualitative healthcare service delivery to the people of the state a reality.

The team also visited Balogun Ajikobi of Ilorin, Balogun Alanamu, and Balogun Fulani of Ilorin in their respective domain.
