Fintiri Awards N5bn Housing Estate Project In Adamawa

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has awarded the contract for the construction of 2,000 units of houses units in Adamawa at the cost of N5 billion.

Government sources revealed that this was done to improve the housing deficiency in the State especially among the civil servants.

The State Government approved a whooping sum of N4.892 billion, for the construction of 2,000 housing units in Adamawa state.

The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Umar Garba, announced the development shortly after the state executive council meeting in Yola, the state capital.

According to him, the houses, to be located in Yola, would comprise three-bedroom and two-bedroom units respectively.


“The Council approved that the project should take off immediately.

“A total sum of N4.892 billion is earmarked for the project; 2,000 housing units in Yola.”

He said that about 14 construction firms were successful in the bidding processes and would build 350 three-bedroom units and 650 two-bedroom units, respectively.

Garba said that the project was in demonstration of the government’s commitment to ensuring that the citizens would have access to affordable houses.

Government had earlier inaugurated the construction of 2,000 units.

The breakdown involved 1,300 units in Malkohi in Yola-South, 400 in Jimeta, Yola-North and 300 in Mubi-North and South LGAs of the state.

The contract was awarded to Family Homes Limited to be completed in 12 months, as confirmed by Mr Femi Adefale, Managing Director of the company at the flag off event last year.
