Hon. Aisha Ahman Pategi: An Unsung Heroine- By Aileru Olamilekan Mikail

                  Aisha Ahman Pategi

I know a woman who inspires with her kindness and compassion. She is a woman who has contributed immensely to the society in a myriad of ways while expecting nothing in return yet she is transforming communities and making a difference in the society.

Hajia Aisha Ahman Pategi is a woman who has made a positive impact on the society through her actions or words. She is someone who has dedicated her time, energy and enthusiasm to helping others thrive and inspires the people around her because of it. And yet she is unsung because she does not seek acknowledgement.

Historically, we know that women have had profound impacts in every field and walk of life but hardly received recognition for their contributions. They work as hard or harder than their male counterparts, sometimes without similar resources, support or rewards. It's unconscionable.

Fast forward to my meeting with her. I can boldly say it was the best thing that ever happened to me; she made me rediscover my untapped potential. She has always inspired, mentored and empowered and would always say to me, "Lekan think in billions and trillions."

Hajia Aisha Ahman Pategi (AAP), a brilliant woman who has vast knowledge in virtually every field of life, doesn't condemn nor discriminate. She is a good listener.

The strong passion for progress and development is one of the traits that sets AAP apart from many political office holders in the state.

Recently, she sponsored over 20 youths for the entrepreneurial development training to access the NIRSAL/CBN Agmeis Loan to start up a business and for expansion of existing businesses. Only a visionary leader will think in that direction, and I must say it's the first time I've seen a political office holder in Kwara state giving a platform for youths to be self-sufficient and become financially independent.

I am so privileged to have been given the opportunity to work under such a great and amazing leader-cum-mother like Hajia Aisha Ahman Pategi.

Gratitude and sincerity of purpose have always been her watchword and these are rubbing off on many of us who have been working closely with her.
