.Gov commends health workers in the state
Earlier today, the Executive Governor of Kwara State Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq was ably represented at the commissioning of the Mini Sport Center of the Kwara state branch of the Nigerian Medical Association by the Honourable Commissioner for Health Dr. Raji Razaq.
Dr. Raji in a short address before the commissioning charged the state's branch of the Medical Association in the state to promote peace, harmony and progress as part of her utmost responsibilities to the citizenry.
He commended the initiative of the outgoing leadership under the chairmanship of Dr. MSK Solagberu for taking cues from the administrative style of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwara State in providing the basic needs of the members after diligent process of need assessment and prudent utilisation of meagre resources of the association.
The Honourable Commissioner further stressed that the adoption of such strategic principles is the secret of success of the present administration.
He stated that "the State Government is ever ready to deliver an effective and efficient healthcare service delivery and have mobilized resources into achieving a number of people oriented agenda beyond the gains of the combat of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He showered encomium on the likes of Dr. Mrs. Lambe, Dr. Oluwatosin Fakayode, Dr. Femi Oladiji, Dr. Micheal Oguntoye, the State NMA Chairman, their various team mates and other categories of health workers in the state that are directly involved in joining forces to deliver services in the COVID-19 pandemic war.
He said 'it is the continuous efforts of these people and the investments of government that has ensured the continuous safety of the state and has earned the state a 4th Position Nationwide in her strides against the pandemic. He also commended all other health workers playing various roles in other health care centres to ensure the community is not overwhelmed by other health challenges.
He further prayed to Almighty Allah to heal all those that are sick including some of the Doctors who tested positive in the line of duty.
He reiterated that His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kwara State and His Excellency, the Deputy Governor who also doubles as the Chairman COVID-19 Technical Committee has shown exemplary leadership in empathising with the sick by paying visits to the COVID-19/Infectious disease centre at Sobi to encourage them and the health workers taking care of them at the centre.
In his remark, the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, Kwara State branch Dr. Kolade Solagberu commended the state Government for her expressed passion and action at rebuilding the state especially the health sector of the Kwara State, which has brought a new lease of life for the citizenry.
He called for the extension of the special emoluments to other Doctors and other health workers in the state who are involved rendering services in other hospitals asides the COVID-19 centre.
He said the mini sport centre of the association is aimed at ensuring an improved welfare of the members and providing facilities to improve their wellbeing.
He said: "the mini sport center will be Opened 24 hours a day hence it will provide the much needed opportunity to work them selves up and review their respective Body mass.
The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Abubakar Ayinla and the Director Medical Services and training, Dr. Johnson Oyeniyi were also in attendance to motivate the Doctors as the Kwara branch unfolds events to marks her 2020 Annual General meeting.
