The popular Green Apple Hotel/Night Club in Naraiyi High Cost Area of Kaduna State came under the hammer of the Kaduna State bulldozer on Monday.
The Hotel which was demolished around 5.44am on Monday is said to be managed by the son of a prominent Kaduna politician, Mrs Laureticia Mallam, Former Minister of Environment during the Goodluck Jonathan administration.
According to reports, the hotel had been in operation for years and also serves as a place of relaxation for most residents in Sabo, Naraiyi, Barnawa area of the state,situated along Post Office/Naraiyi area
The hotel is said to have had a dispute with the state government over the location of the place, which was later resolved.
Though there had been outcry by many over the demolition of the place, It could not be ascertained the reason why it came under the hammer of the Kaduna State government this time around.
It could be recalled that the Kaduna State government had commenced the agenda of demolition of houses which they felt had been built on government lands or without the right papers.
Many houses, offices and some business places had come under the hammer of the government as a result of this.
A source revealed that the government had no reason to demolish the hotel as the place is said to have met all conditions demanded by the government.
According to him, our Kaduna governor is fond of demolishing places.
“Where does he want these people to go to”, he queried.
Sources revealed that the owners of the demolished hotel have vowed to go to court and file for damages.
