Shagaya bags management award, makes CIPRMP Hall of Fame 2020

The Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics, promoting leadership values and sustainable democracy has awarded Chairman Salman Shagaya Foundation, Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya for his excellent statesmanship and outstanding resourcefulness towards the nation's development.

The group which comprise experts, professionals, and political leaders across Africa considers various criteria before conferring fellowship on recipients. The assessment covers career performance, philanthropy, and records of contributions toward the community, national, and international development.

The Council & Advisory Board, CIPRMP, said Shagaya was selected as one of the few credible statesmen in the light of his professional and humanitarian excellence.

"This institute is aware of your towering records as a phenomenal entrepreneurial statesman that has traversed the corporate landscape of Nigeria, Africa, and even in the Diaspora, " Dr. Richards Ikpada, Head West Africa Operations remarked during the presentation.
"The Institute is commending your courage in venturing into a sector which has a very high risk at a younger age, and are enthralled by your superlative accomplishments in entrepreneurship. You have indeed demonstrated rare professionalism as a well-trained economist.

"We are also not unmindful of your passionate and endless humanitarian activities over the years through the Salman Shagaya Foundation. Your huge commitment towards ameliorating hardship and helping the vulnerable with diverse empowerment initiatives is laudable."

The Institute said they conferred Shagaya with prestigious lifetime Senior Fellowship following his track records as a statesman committed to the progress and unity of Nigeria.

Shagaya while collecting the award in Abuja earlier today during a state visit led by Vice President of the Institute, Hon (Dr.) Tom Ohikere, appreciated the recognition, reiterating his commitment to the development of Nigeria and Africa.

"We have been running this group of companies for over 14 years with eyes firmly set on excellent service delivery and impact in Nigeria and across the globe. This is evident in our consistency and growth as a corporate body. Our foundation, which I am so passionate about, also keeps touching lives in different ways including relief for widows, old people, and the sick. We run scholarships for students and currently are on an alternative electricity project fixing solar in 4,000 homes in rural communities.

"Our contribution to the fight against COVID-19 is well documented. We have distributed bottles of sanitizers, gave out food, and #5,000 relief money to many indigents. This is by no means we are done. Both on the professional and humanity front, we will keep pushing forward, breaking grounds, and making more impact in the society. I appreciate the staff and members driving the vision. It is an honour for us all, " the foundation press secretary Ibraheem Abdullateef said in a statement on Saturday.
