KWARA: Oke-Ogun Residents call for prompt intervention on Worsen state of Infrastructure facilities


Some infrastructural facilities over the years in Kwara is a lot more than to be imagined. Various areas within the Ilorin metropolis is an epicentre as well as victims of this concerning matter.

A community in the Ilorin South area of Kwara state has taken to the media and social network to express their plight on the worsen state of the infrastructural facilities in their area and the washing off of various facilities due to erosion and improper human resources management. 






Residents of Olufadi community and other neighbouring communities such as Isale koto, Ajanaku, Edun and Awoly all which are sub communities of Oke ogun community in Ilorin Kwara state has expressed their plights and outcry to the state government due to their poor standard of living due to lack and improper arrangements of infrastructural facilities in the area. This was followed earlier by series of letters to the state Government for immediate intervention.

Alhaja Abdulkadir Aishat a resident  as well as Jimoh Ismail, secretary Okeogun Progressive Forum made this known in an interviews with Sobi FM where they emphasized on the poor condition and need of rehabilitation of the Shubanul Primary School located at Edun beside Aishat Adepate house. They further expressed, the school environment has stopped becoming condusive for the students and erosion has beecome dominant in the area. We have sent different letters to the government and they kept giving us empty promised.








In continuation, they added that the state of Olufadi bridge along Edun junction has become worst and a sort of death trap for residents and passerbys. There are lots of abandoned boreholes in the area as well which had stopped working due to erosion and other technical issues that needs to be looked into.


This is a call to the Kwara state Government for swift and proper intervention to pave a good living spirits and raise the moral residents and passerbys of the community, the community said.
