The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Sulyman Age Abdulkareem, has congratulated the Director of the University’s Stem Cell Research Centre, Prof. Adekunle David Dunmade, on his appointment as the Special Adviser on Health Matters to the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
In a press statement signed by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, the Vice-Chancellor described Prof. Dunmade’s choice as “a wise pick”, going by the impressive professional trajectory of the erudite Professor of Otolaryngology and world renowned expert in the field of ear, nose and throat (ENT) Medicine.
Commending Governor AbdulRazaq for demonstrating his flair for fishing out experts in specific areas of his administration, Prof. Abdulkareem expressed the belief that the new Special Adviser would bring his wealth of experience to bear on the provision of adequate health care delivery to the people of Kwara State.
The Vice-Chancellor then wished the new appointee a successful tenure while assuring him of the University’s cooperation at all times towards facilitating the effective discharge of his duties.
Prof. Dunmade, who was recently appointed Chairman of the Board of Management of the Bowen University Teaching Hospital (BUTH),Ogbomosho by the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Chairman of Board of Management of the Bowen University Teaching Hospital(BUTH),Ogbomosho by the Nigerian Baptist Convention, is a Fellow of the KKR ENT Hospital and Research Institute, Chennai, India; Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons; Fellow of the Medical College of Otolaryngology; member of the Nigerian Surgical Research Society; member of the Nigerian Society of Neurological Sciences affiliated to World Federation of Neurology; member of the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, among others.
