CELF: Kwara South monarch praises HICA, as Coordinators trained on project, selection process



Just like it has been for other senatorial district in Kwara State.The Haashim Initiative for Community Advancement (HICA) delegation has also paid visits to the Southern part of the state in a bid to sensitize people, familiarize with the community and the Leaders,  as well as to orientates the Local Govt Coordinators on Countryside Emerging Leaders' Fellowship (CELF) project, duties and community development.


The commendations the organizer Haashim Initiative for Community Advancement (HICA) has received so far since the cause of visitations, gains more strength as The Oloro of Oro kingdom in Irepodun Local Government, Oba Abdulrafiu Olaniyi Oyelaran also commended delegation for promoting all-inclusive education through the CELF project in the State.


Oba Oyelaran gave this commendation on Monday, while receiving the delegation during a courtesy visit to his palace on Monday. The Mornach said that CELF is a community development initiative that  youths from rural areas will sincerely benefit from.




He also noted that the two slots given to each local government are inadequate, if  the number of schools and towns across Kwara South senatorial district should be considered.


He expressed delight over the initiative of CELF, in bringing out the talents among the youths, while praying for the success of the project.


In another development, participants at the orientation programme for coordinators across the seven local government of the senatorial district also expressed their commitment towards the  realization of the project. The Coordinators who were trained on community development and project CELF were urged to be just and fair in selecting the students that will represent their respective local governments.


Mr. Bakare Monsuru (Isin LG) who spoke on behalf of the seven Coordinators said that they are going to cooperate with the CELF Team in the selection process of the eligible students. 


The programme, which was held at the Oro Grammar School, Oro, Ifelodun Local Government, had in attendance President, All  Nigeria Conference of Principal in Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Kwara State, Alhaji Toyin Abdullah, and CELF Coordinators including Onipede Ezekiel Olufemi (Ekiti), Olasehinde Raphael Sunday (Oyun), Ogunlade Sheifat Modupelola (Ifelodun), Bakare Monsuru Ishola (Isin), Ogunyemi, S. A. (Oke-Ero), and students of selected secondary schools across the senatorial zone.
