-COMMENDS GOV's RARE OPENNESS
-KWSG PLEDGES HONESTY
Following the report early presented by the Eight-Member Judicial Panel inaugurated on the 11th of August by Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, it has been empirically established that the allegation recently made by ENETSUD claiming that the KWSG diverted the funds meant for LGAs is hereby faulty and baseless as no concrete back-up has been evidenced so far through out the investigations made by the Panel chaired by Justice Matthew Adewara (rtd).
On that note, the Chairman of the Panel, Justice Adewara, thereby, after describing the incumbent Administration as an open-minded, free-to-all, and corrupt-free, states, "We want to state categorically that there is no evidence either in oral or documentary to support the allegation of 300m monthly deduction from the Local Government funds by the State Government. The allegation of such deductions is therefore baseless, unfounded and false." Delving into the root of the matter, the Justice in question solemnly makes it known to the public that after the Panel visited many LGs for investigations, a total of 35 witnesses testified with several mind-blowing documents that the allegation has had no solid grounds to stand. Thus, the salaries of both teaching and non-teaching staff are equally being paid from May, 29th without any obstruction till now.
Justice Aderawa, after having reported to Mr. Suleimon (of ENETSUD) the real reasons the allegation is misinforming and faulty makes it known that the past Administration, in the name of LGs, took two separate loans of #4bn and #1.6bn respectively. It is therefore confirmed that it were these loans LGs were to refund not until September, 2019 that the first loan was fully refunded. The report further substantially educates the masses that the other loan only ends in August, 2022, also from the accounts of LGs respectively. Hence, any allegation holding KWSG in fault is hereby debunked, rejected and disproved.
Above all, the Panel recommended that the State Government should ensure "Monthly publication of the total wage bills, IGR, and expenditures at the State and Local Government levels." This, as the Panel claims, would authenticate the transparency and accountability features of the Government the more. It is in this connection Justice Adewara commends the Governor for boldly setting up a panel to investigate His Administration.
From the foregoing, the Governor of the State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq also appreciates the Panel and assures its members of a realistic practicability of the whole recommendations put forth. The Governor further pledges honesty to walk down to the land of reality all the promises he has made in His campaign either onto the Local Governments or to even to the whole of the State.
The Eight-Member Panel comprised people drawn from various walks of life, including retired Justice Adewara (Chairman); Mrs Halimah Bello (DSS), Mrs Titilayo Adedeji (CSOs), Barrister Aisha Bello Mohammed (NBA), DSP Adekunle Iwalaiye (police), Mohammed Baba Ibrahim (ICAN), Alhaja Asmau Apalando (NLC), and Barrister S.K Grillo (Secretary).
