Alfred Agboola Ajayi |
Describing the ruling APC-led government as a failure, Ajayi said Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu failed the people of the state with his lackluster performance.
He described PDP as a party that lacked the structure with which it could win election in the state.
Speaking after he received defectors from PDP in Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state who were led by a governorship aspirant, Mr Banji Okunomo, former chairman of the local government, Mr Solomon Bitire and hundreds of others, the deputy governor alleged PDP of breaching the zoning arrangement in the state and would be punished by voters for such breach.
He explained that Governor Akeredolu’s performance in office in the last three and half years fell short of people’s expectations owing to the governor’s alleged decision to personalise government.
APC members led by Mr Olukayode Abiodun, the party’s secretary in Akure South, were also received by the Deputy Governor.
The deputy governor said the people would speak against Akeredolu with their votes in the October 10 election for failing to meet their yearnings and aspirations.
Appreciating Okunomo for displaying high level of patriotism unlike others, who he said equate their personal interests with that of the entire zone, Mr. Agboola Ajayi said: “PDP and APC are dead in Ondo South. We can postpone burial ceremony, but you cannot wake up the dead political parties.”
