Saving Dreams Foundation rollout modalities for Spelling Championship in Kwara


From the Organizers' desk;

It's with great pleasure I bring to your notice the proposed programme timeline for the 1st Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi spelling championship for public secondary school students.
 
 The spelling bee is slated to hold in three stages (the preliminary, semi final and final stages). The first and second stage is set to hold in queen Elizabeth school, Taiwo and the final stage at the college of education hall, college of education, sawmill Ilorin. 

As at 9:00pm, on September 7th, 2020, 212 entries have been submitted. 
At the preliminary stage, which is set to hold on the 9th of September 2020, a written test will be conducted where the students will have to write the 100 dictated words in 9-10 minutes.  A cut off mark will be decided on after marking. The top 60 students will qualify for the next stage i.e the semi finals which will also hold at Queen Elizabeth school, Taiwo.
The semi finals will hold on the 12th of September which will be in two phases i.e a written test and oral test, the first twenty to emerge after the test will qualify for the final stage i.e  top 10 students each fom both the junior and senior category will make it to the final. 

The grand finale will be held at the college of education hall on the 24th of September with the winners (senior and Junior categories) will be going home with amazing cash prizes. The winner will go home with a sum of #50,000 and books. 1st runner up will be getting a cash prize #30,000 with books. 2nd runner up will be getting a cash prize of #20,000 and books while the 3rd runner up will also get a consolation prize.


NB: COVID-19 safety guidelines will be strictly adhered to.
