The Old Boys Association of Shaykh Ibrahim Inyass Nursery and Primary School, Abayawo Ilorin has hailed the appointment of Amb. (Dr.) Abubakar Sideeq Yusuf Ar-Rufai Agbade as the Grand Khalifah of the Tijaniyyah Order in Kwara State.
The group which is an alumni association of one the educational establishments of the newly appointed Khalifah in a statement made available to the press by its President, Alh. Abdulganiy Sa'ad through the publicity secretary, Bolaji Aladie, saluted the Emir of Ilorin, Alh. Ibrahim Zulu-Gambari for his magnificent role in the appointment whilst commending all other stakeholders for their foresight in making Agbade choice of Khalifah.
The statement reads...
"We the old boys of Shaykh Ibrahim Inyass Nursery and Primary School, Abayawo, Ilorin wish to use this medium to congratulate our father, mentor, guardian, and founder of our alma mater, *Fadhilat Shaykh (Dr.) Abubakar Yusuf Agbade* on his meritorous appointment as the Grand Khalifah of the Tijaniyyah group in Kwara State as announced and endorsed yesterday by His Royal Highness, The Emir of Ilorin, *Alh. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR.*
"We want to categorically appreciate our revered Emir for his magnificent fatherly role towards the ratification of the appointment whilst commending also the significant supports from all the religion and Islamic clerics under the headship of *Shaykh Imam Muhammad Basheer Saliu Fulani.*
"Specifically, we salute the foresightedness and comradeship spirit of all our fathers in the path of Tijaniyyah Sufi Order which gave birth to the appointment of our father, Baba Agbade, as the next Grand Khalifah after the *Late Shaykh Abdulrahman Yusuf Maiyaki (RTA).*
"Baba Agbade's contributions to the development and spread of Islam, Tijaniyyah and Faydah's path are beyond the shore of Kwara. He is a dedicated scholar of international repute committing all his God-giving resources to the course of Allah. He has remained consistent since he started the journey close to six decades ago.
"His numerous efforts towards amicable and harmonious relationships amongst various groups in Islam, particularly the sufist are well recognized. Shaykh Agbade is no doubt a bridge-builder. Thus, appointing such a great servant of Islam as Grand Khalifah of Tijaniyyah is a decision well thought out, the appointment is meritoriously deserved.
"While praying for the longevity of life in abundance wealth and sound health for the new Khalifah, we want to seek for indivisible supports from all religious stakeholders for him so that he can discharge the errands better than imagined. May almighty Allah continue to guide him and us."
