I decided to write on how to stand out stand from the crowd this week principally due to the fact that I observed with dismay that a lot of people have lost hope. They are now totally dejected and withdrawn completely because of the state of the economy and as such they have given up. Hence they are now amongst the crowd. This simply means that they are lost to the crowd.
The synonyms for stand from the crowd include; excel, shine, star, thrive, flourish, prosper, blossom and boom amongst others.
The Big question is how can you stand out from the crowd?
You can actually stand out from the crowd if you imbibe some of the salient issues discussed below:
Never Give Up: A lot of people lose steam sooner than later when they start a venture and they suddenly give up most especially when things are slow or when the venture has not yet seen the light of the day. It should be noted that every venture has its own gestation period and you need to allow the gestation period to take its course. So whatever you do and sincerely believe in it, do not give up because there will surely be light after darkness. So never say die, until the bones are rotten. The key point here is that; Never Give Up!
Believe in Yourself: A lot entrepreneurs do not really believe in themselves and that is the beginning of failure. It is indeed a very good concept to believe in yourself. If you have this concept and affirm it deeply, it will show to the outside world and you will sooner than later stand out from the crowd.
Know Yourself: It is quite unfortunate that a lot of people do not know themselves very well. In the light of this, do introspection and meditate very often in order to know yourself very well. Not only that, get feedback from people on the way and manner you behave.
Be Emotionally Intelligent (EI): For you to stand out from the crowd, you must be emotionally intelligent. Wikipedia defined EI as; the capability of individuals to recognize their own emotions and those of others, discern between feelings and label them appropriately. Kindly note that empathy is typically associated with EI because it relates to an individual connecting their personal experiences with those of others. The importance of EI cannot be over emphasized because it will take you very far if you know its nitty gritty and it will also enable you to stand out from the crowd as well. The key issues and/ or elements in EI are; Self Awareness, Empathy, Motivation, Self Regulation and Social Skills.
You must embrace the concept of Assertiveness: What is assertiveness? Assertiveness simply means that: You know your right, you know the right of others and you don’t infringe on the right of others and neither do you allow others to infringe on your own right. The import of assertiveness is that you will have the ability to stand for your own and for others’ right as well. If you are very assertive, you will have the following benefits; less anxiety, and depression, you will have better relationships with people and you will have higher self esteem and great confidence amongst others.
Be of Service: Wherever you find yourself, be of service to people and humanity. This will enable you to stand out from the crowd because people will see you easily. Partake in community service and development and this will propel to you a greater height.
Treat everyone as special: Treat everyone you meet as special and do not treat people with disdain. Respect everyone irrespective of their class in the society.
Be Inspirational: Inspire people that come your way and they will never forget you and you will always be in their hearts. When you inspire people you also move up the ladder and as such stand out from the crowd. If you cultivate the habit of inspiring people at all times, people will want to come to you at all times for advice.
Be Yourself: Please, do not copy anybody because you are created by God to fulfill a purpose on this earth so why do you have to copy someone or why do you want to be like someone else? Be yourself at all times please! This will no doubt enable you to stand out from the crowd.
Love Yourself: A lot of people hate themselves and hence they behave irrationally to people. Which means that such people will never radiate love. So love yourself at all times and this will show to the outside world and before you know it, you will stand out from the crowd.
Have Self Confidence: If you have self confidence, it simply means that you have trust in yourself. Kindly note that self confidence is very important to your health. You can gain self confidence through visualization, by affirming it to yourself, by helping people and by caring for yourself. So embrace the habit of self confidence and you will surely stand out from the crowd.
So keep the dream alive! Success shall be yours!
