Exclusive: Bolarinwa’s sack rattles Kwara Minister



A Minister from Kwara State has been reported to be making frantic efforts at quashing the removal of the erstwhile chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State.


The said Minister became restless immediately he was fed with the position of the National Caretaker Committee of APC concerning Kwara matter and reasons adduced for removing the embattled chairman.


According to sources, the National Secretariat of APC was unwilling to see the former chairman beyond January 2021 in office over allegations leading to his purported suspension by the State chapter. 


However, just yesterday (Wednesday), the second time Minister in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari was  glued to his phone through out the day. 


The source said; he made call to France to secure the support of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the unsavory development that befell him. While the former Governor of Lagos State was unreachable, he called one of his aides that advancing sentiment that the fight is against Asiwaju and there is a need for him to wade in.


Our source continued that, the Minister who had latched seriously on the Bolarinwa’s chairmanship to remain relevant in Kwara State put call across to every highly placed personality in the country to help “save our soul”.


This appeal according to another source seems to be making impact particularly after the ill-fated press conference addressed by some members of Kwara State chapter of the party putting paid to innuendoes and outright falsehoods peddled by some sponsored media outlets in Ilorin.


Another impeccable source added that, the Minister pleaded with the National

Secretariat for a reconciliation meeting to be brokered by the National Chairman.


Meanwhile, reports from Ilorin, capital city of Kwara State had it that the new Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Samari enjoys the support of all members of the State House of Assembly but one. 


“The three senators representing Kwara State in the National Assembly and a size-able number of Representatives are with new chairman”, the source concluded.
