A renown, Pro-Democracy and Good Governance Group of  progressive like minds, affiliated to All Progressives Congress (APC) of Kwara State Chapter has collectively declares their undiluted supports  for the Gov of Kwara State amidst the sacking of ex- APC Chairman , Bashir Omoloja Bolarinwa alias BOB.

This was disclosed in a press briefing, held by the aforementioned groups earlier today Thursday, January 14th at the Kwara State Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Ilorin.

The youths maintained that their Press Briefing is aimed at showing their unrelenting supports for the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman Abdulrasaq, and the Newly Appointed Caretaker Chairman of APC, Hon. Abdullahi Samari.

Abdulmumeen Lade Yunusa, who is the Coordinator Kwara North APC, says while addressing NEWSMEN, We have been observing the turn of political events in our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC)  keenly for few months now, and it is necessary for the sake of posterity and way forward that we express our stands too. It is indeed a sad scenario that we now have some people in our party working against the interest of Kwara State and Kwarans, and the good work of His Excellency Mal. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq , all because of political interest which is totally not in accordance to the Otoge Campaign Mantra during the 2019 General Election.

The mandate given to our Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq was given by the good people of Kwara State and well-meaning members of the great party, that alone is a proof that Kwarans were conscious of the actions they took during the 2019 General Election as they went to the poll to put their destinies into their hands by saying goodbye to bad governance and godfatherism. Lade said

Lade stated that, It is indeed a sad situation, that some groups of people have positioned themselves as the giver of power and ascribed the collective success of Kwarans to themselves by working against the man whom Kwarans entrusted with the affairs of the state.

Comrade Lade in his address said it would be noteworthy to understand that despite the enmity some groups in the party are having with the Governor and in their resolve to ensure that they frustrate the government, the Governor in his wisdom and being truthful to the promises he made to Kwarans has remained focused and undistracted in delivering good governance to the state.

Comrade Lade while stating the Governor’s achievement in office, said Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq in his effort Kwara State has been able to get off from the blacklist of UBEC; this has made the state to receive N7,151,142,190 grants from the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), the first time since 2013 when the state was blacklisted from the national scheme. Also in a bid to improve the healthcare system and provide unrestricted access to the health needs of Kwarans, the Governor of the Kwara State has embarked on the massive renovation of over 37 primary healthcare centers in the state while adding 70 new medical personnel. And the launching of a free health insurance scheme for 10,000 indigent Kwarans. Also, the Kwara State General Hospital got accredited to train resident doctors after it was adjudged fit for that purpose by the Faculty Board of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. Stating that just yesterday the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq flagged off the construction and rehabilitation of 700 kilometers of rural roads under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) in Kwara State.

Lade also said in his briefing that;

They stands strongly and wholeheartedly behind the suspension of Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa and the appointment of Alhaji Abdullahi Samari. Reiterating that Hon. Bolarinwa should have been long gone. That he stayed so long despite his undisguised hatred and disrespect for the Governor and the government elected under the party he led underscores the unimaginable tolerance level of the Governor who watched Hon. Bolarinwa and his men as they denigrated him and his admin.

Comrade Lade said It is instructive that Hon. Bolarinwa could not take the slightest challenge to the authority as he sidelined and punished members of the State Executive Council who disagreed with his style, He however added that Hon. Bolarinwa went on the radio many times condemning the APC government and the Governor, therefore it not surprising that the national headquarters of the party has done the needful, he said.

IN conclusion, Comr Lade urged all progressives members of the APC party and Kwarans to support AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in his quest to make Kwara great. Warning anyone wanting to constitute a nuisance under whatever guise. Kwara is a state of Harmony and no individual, no matter how highly placed, should be allowed to mess with the peace and security of lives and properties in the state, he stated.

Attendees of the press briefing include members of APC.
