A statement which was issued by the Chairman of Chairmen APC Ward Chairmen Forum, Kwara State, Comr. Habib Lawal to Journalists after the press conference read: “We were ecstatic to receive the news of Alahaji (Hon) Abdullahi Samari Abubakar’s appointment as the new Caretaker Chairman of APC in Kwara State and with resounding commendation for the informed decision of the National Caretaker Committee of APC under His Excellency Mala Bunni, we back this decision as the erstwhile Chairman of the party, Alahaji Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa is guilty of acting consistently against the interest of the APC in the State and coercing other party members to do same. His removal marks a new dawn for APC in Kwara State and offers the party an opportunity to reunite and be focused to effectively support His Excellency, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to sustain delivery of dividends of good governance to the people of Kwara State.
“We remain confident that with Alahaji (Hon) Abdullahi Samari Abubakar’s antecedence and experience as an excellent leader, a core progressive and democrat, he will join hands with the Kwara State APC Ward Chairmen Forum and other Party leaders to unite and build our party (APC) into a much stronger, focused and united family. Our resolve to avail ourselves for the continuous service to APC in Kwara State and His Excellency, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is not negotiable as we believe this collaboration is in the best interest of all Kwarans.
“We use this opportunity to also reiterate our unwavering support for the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and commend him for upholding the integrity of the APC by delivering efficiently on the manifesto we promised Kwara people when we campaigned on the ” O’ To’ Ge’ ” mantra.
“Kwara State under the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led Government has done exceptionally well under a short time in office as programs and projects of the Government continue to speak volumes of her genuine commitment and sincerity of purpose to make the life of all Kwarans better.
“Some highlights of the projects of this Government include:
– Completion of Comprehensive rehabilitation of the Children Specialist Hospital, Igbori in Ilorin alongside massive rehabilitation of Primary Healthcare centres which is currently ongoing across the 16 LGAs in Kwara State.
– Road Infrastructural Development has been on a high scale across Kwara State as areas that were in deplorable state before are now been rehabilitated and new access routes created. All these the Governor Abdurhaman Abdulrazaq led Kwara State Government is achieving through prudent utilisation of scarce resources, strategic partnerships and no loans.
Through the Rural Access and Agriculture Marketing Project (RAAMP), the Governor has flagged-off the construction of the 5.2km Alapa-Arobadi pilot road in Asa LGA and is set to upgrade 125 kilometres of road to asphalt or sealed materials, carry out spot improvement on 450 kilometres of road and carry out routine maintenance on 700 kilometres of road. The government will also carry out backlog maintenance on 200 kilometres of road, five river crossings will be fixed, while some existing markets will be upgraded to hubs.
“All of these, have been made possible by the constant payment of counterpart funding by the Abdulrahman led Government (a practice that was alien with past Administrations) and are to be done in partnership with the World Bank and other international donor agencies. The projects are worth $60m and would be spread across the 16 local government areas of the state in phases.
“Commendation must be given to the World Bank and the International Donor Agencies for their support. Thanks to the Ministry of Works and Transport, the State Project Monitoring Committee (SPMC) and the State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU), among others, for their hard work and commitment. Their Sacrifices to ensuring these projects see the light of the day make all the difference Kwarans enjoy.
“- Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has continued to reaffirm his commitment for the security and lives of Kwarans hence his recent endorsement of Community Policing as a lasting Solutions for insecurity in Nigeria and Kwara State. He has also called for effective inclusion of Traditional rulers via Constitutional roles in the process. Kwarans indeed under Abdurhaman Abdulrazaq feel safer than they have ever felt before.
“- Distribution of relief materials worth over 80 Million naira to about 1, 800 households who were victims of flood in Moro, Patigi and Edu LGAs to provide extra succour is a singular example of how Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq puts the welfare of Kwarans first. The Government’s initial Disbursement of 500 Million naira as relief for victims of the End SARS Protest in the State is an act that recieved National Commendation and is yet to be matched by any State Government in Nigeria or the Federal Government.
“- KWASSIP a social empowerment program uniquely designed for the State continues to recieve applause from Kwarans across the 16 LGAs and the Diaspora as the programs under KWASSIP touch the lives of the most vulnerable in the Kwara socio-economic space enhancing their standard of living and offering social security to our people.
“- The roles of the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led Government in upgrading Public Schools within the state to ensure Kwara Children have access to quality Education can never be over-emphasized as this has enhanced school enrollment. 25% of the 2021 budget has been allocated to Education, a feat that has never been achieved in the history of Kwara.
“- Kwara State is fast becoming a Construction site as strategic partnerships between BUA Group of Companies and other Investors is bringing industrialization to our Grassroots. Thanks to the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led Kwara State Government.
As a result of one of this partnerships, BUA Group is set to build a 20,000 ha Lafiagi Sugar Plantation & Refinery which upon completion will produce 200,000 tonnes of refined sugar, 20 million litres of ethanol annually and 35 MW of power from bagasse. It will create employment for our women and youths and boost IGR for government.
“These and more are the multiple ways the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led Kwara State Government is growing the State and caring for it’s citizens. We call on all members of the APC and Kwarans across divides to be numb to unprogressive elements within and outside the party and rally round the Governor offering their Unalloyed support in his quest to build a new Kwara where everyone matters.
“We use this opportunity to also charge Kwarans to turn out in masses to register as members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kwara State when Registration begins on the 25th January, 2021 as it offers all an opportunity to be part of the progressive train moving Kwarans forward.
