The Caucus for Progressive Change, All Progressives Congress (APC), Kwara State chapter has described a member of Kwara State House of Assembly as a clown good to represent Kwara State in any Olympic.
The group in a statement released and signed by its acting Secretary, Ganiyu Zakaryah said, the honourable member has hidden his talent for too long but this late discovery is still salvageable.
“Honourable Saheed Popoola is not a local clown again but one that must be sponsored to represent our dear state at the next Olympic. How unstable would a man be, you abused Saraki two years ago and you are back praising him?
“Let’s remind him, that this was the same way he abandoned the struggle to reclaim the Offa chairmanship election in 2014 when he traded the struggle that brought all members of the defunct ACN on streets for Commissioner of Sports in Fatah Ahmed government. Alhaji Lai Mohammed and other leaders almost wept over his betrayal.
“On the issue of his suspension from the house, he should be truthful to himself that when he started his usual defiant journey back in 2018, he rushed to the court to secure a restraining order which was given by my lord Justice Umar. “ The statement reminisced.
In a similar vein, the lawmaker would not forgive Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for refusing to allow him share job slots that are meant for the children of the less privileged and Kwara State generally.
“Very uncannily, how earth would anybody who got into office through election be angry that he was not given slots from the ongoing 4,700 teachers recruitment in the state. This how they have been sharing our benefits and patrimony in the past to the detriment of the masses.
“If your new found benefactors and all time allies (Saraki) and his lackeys were so proactive and people-centered why would they wait until the twilight of Ahmed administration to prepare ground for RAAMP? What ground would you have prepared when you refused to pay for a project? You should know that as at 2019 when Ahmed was leaving government, many states in Nigeria have taken three tranches of RAAMP and then your benefactors were still preparing ground. Haba!
“Be prepared that in the coming days we shall confront you with recordings of your pre-election appearances on all radio stations to remind Kwarans that you are a clown, unstable and fair weathered politician’”, it concluded.
