Attempts by some unscrupulous elements loyal to the Former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki's plans to disrupt the upcoming Eid l Fitr Sallah festival in Ilorin, the state capital, have been uncovered, says a group known as Kwara Leadership and Governance Initiative in a statement.
The statement jointly signed by the Chairman and its Secretary, Kale Ibrahim and Tunde Ogundipe, further expatiate in the statement that the Former Senate President had revealed plans to spend ten days in Kwara but ended up leaving for Abuja after a few days in Ilorin. Similar tactics were deployed months ago to destabilize the peaceful atmosphere enjoined by Kwarans when the clandestine moves to cause chaos were bursted although led to the death of some innocent people at the Saraki family house, a similar development that has led to him leaving before his planned 10days to give room for the hatchet job he sponsored to be carried out by his allies and agents at the Eid praying ground.
Ilorin witnessed similar unrest the last time Senator Bukola Saraki visited home where a few deaths were recorded. This is to send a warning signal to the people to be security conscious especially at this time when purveyors of fake news are more interested in damaging the good reputation of the state and the present administration.
Intelligence gathered after reports of planned attacks to discredit Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration revealed that arrangements have been perfected with a known thug, Oba Ajara and his group of hoodlums to cause chaos and unrest in the State.
The Police had earlier expressed concerns over security threats and urged the general public to be wary of any suspicious activity or movements by street urchins and hoodlums which have been confirmed by authorities to pose threat to peace during the festive season.
The Eid praying ground where the Emir of Ilorin Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari (Dr) is expected to attend the prayer is not a place for political gatherings and rivalry and as such should not be used to pursue overzealous political propaganda and agenda. The Ilorin Emirate Royal stool is too important to be used for cheap political gains and political sponsors ought to know better.
We also urge the former governor of Kwara State Bukola Saraki to imbibe the habit of promoting peace among his retinue of daredevil supporters who are only desperate for monetary gains at the expense of state's growth and development.
