Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has congratulated foremost labour leader Comrade Issa Aremu on his appointment as the substantive Director General of the National Institute for Labour Studies (NILS), describing his pick as deserving and a reward for consistency.
"This is a pleasant appointment for an accomplished labour leader and respected ambassador of trade union movement with longstanding struggles for decent labour in Nigeria and beyond," the Governor said in a statement made available to 9japarrot through his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Tuesday.
"Aremu, a two-term Vice-President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, General Secretary of National Union of Textile Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria, Vice President of the Industrial Global Union, and General Secretary of the Alumni Association of the National Institute for Policy & Strategy Studies is eminently qualified to lead the prestigious labour market institution in line with the vision of President Muhammadu Buhari.”
Governor AbdulRazaq commended President Muhammadu Buhari for finding the illustrious son of Kwara worthy of the appointment.
He prays Almighty Allah to guide Comrade Issa Aremu in the onerous task of making the NILS a world class institution.
Recalls that our medium earlier reported that Aremu's appointment is for a period of four years, effective from 18th May, 2021.
