JUST IN: PDP Wins 32 Local Governments In Oyo LG Polls



The Oyo State Independent National Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has declared the candidates of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP as winners in the Chairmanship election conducted in the 32 local government areas.

According to source made available to 9japarrot, the Chairman of the commission, Aare Isiaka Olagunju declared the winners during the collation of election results at the headquarters of the commission in Ibadan, the state capital.

Olagunju added that the Ido local government election has been rescheduled for Wednesday 26th, May 2021.

He explained that the rescheduling was necessary due to likely anniversary for May 29th, 2021 which was earlier announced as the election date.

Meanwhile, due to violence reported in Ibarapa East local government, the commission cancelled the votes in the entire Ward 5 and Unit 3 of ward 7.

He added that date for the councillorship election in the cancelled ward will be announced later.


The candidates of the party declared were: Raheem Akeem Adepou(Oorelope), Sulaiman Adediran(Irepo), Mrs Juliana Oluwakemi Akanni (Olorunsogo), Akanji Kabir Ayoade (Ogbomoso North), Oyeniyi Timothy Oyedokun (Ogbomoso South) and Bolaji Ojo Akintola(Itesiwaju)

Jelili Oyinloye Adebare(Iwajowa), Fasasi Adeagbo(ATISBO), Mrs Ramat Adeniran(Saki-East), Sarafadeen Omirinde(Saki-West), Adebare Muraina Afolabi(Kajola),

Adesoye Seun Ojo (Ogo-Oluwa), Olateju Michael Alabi( Oriire), Adegbite Isaiah Alabi(Surulere), Adedoyin Oloyede Adeoye(Ibarapa Central), Lateef Adebayo Lawal (Ibarapa North) and Muftau Osuolale(Iseyin).

Also among the winners are Sunday Akindele Ojo(Afijio), Kafilat Olakojo (Atiba), Musbaudeen Adesina Sanusi(Ona-Ara), Babatunde Akeem Salami(Oyo West), Saheed Arowosaye Adeyemi(Oyo East) and Ibrahim Akintayo (Ibadan North-East).

Others are Taoheed Jimoh Adedigba (Akinyele), Settle Olaide Popoola(Oluyole), Kazeem Gbadamosi (Lagelu), Oyedele Sikiru Sanda (Egbeda ), Kehinde Adeyemi Akanni(Ibadan South-West), Musbaudeen Sanusi(Ona-Ara), Saheed Oladayo Yusuf(Ibadan North), Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode(Ibadan South-East), Obalowo (Ibarapa East).

The swearing in ceremony for the newly elected chairmen has been scheduled for Monday at the House of Chiefs in Ibadan
