Dr. Jimoh Ahmed Ayinla was born on the 23rd day of August 1960, into Jatto Family, Agaka, Ilorin West, Kwara State.
Jimoh Ahmed Ayinla obtained the Grade II Teachers Certificate from Ilorin Teachers Training College in 1982. He also obtained the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from Kwara State College of Education Ilorin in 1986, and bagged a Bachelor of Education B. An (Ed) Social Studies from the University of Ilorin in 1992.
He went on to bag Master Degrees in Public Administration (MPA); Educational Management (M.Ed), and Peace & Strategic Studies from the better by the far University of Ilorin in 1998, 2004, and 2010 respectively.
He went further to bag MPhil. in Peace and Strategic Studies from the University of Ilorin in 2013.
Dr. Jimoh Ahmed Ayinla bagged his Ph.D. in Peace and Strategic Studies from the University of Ilorin in 2020.
His working experience started at Kwara State Teaching Service Commission, where he worked as a Class Teacher at Army Day Secondary School, Sobi, Ilorin (1987-1996); Sheikh AbdulKadir College, Ilorin (1996-2001), Government Secondary School, Jebba (2001), and Government Day Secondary School, Adeta (2001).
He joined the Kwara State College of Education (COED), Ilorin in 2001 as a Lecturer, and rose through the ranks to become a Chief Lecturer at the Social Studies Department of the College in 2016.
He has served in various Administrative and College Community Service positions: Director, Advancement Centre COED Ilorin (2020), Director Entrepreneurship and Innovation (2019-2020), Director Computer Information & Technology Centre (CITC) COED, Ilorin (2014-2019), Member College Sports Committee (2010-2013), Coordinator Sandwich Degree Programme, Social Studies Department (2009-2011), Head of Department, Social Studies Department (2009-2011), Chairman, Sports Committee School of Arts & Social Sciences (2007-2010), Member College Shop Allocation Committee (2005-2010), Member Admission Committee (2005-2009), Member Model Secondary School Management Board (2005-2009), Member College of Education Sport Committee (2005-2021), Chairman Educational Committee Aminat Ajibike Memorial
Group of Schools (2004-2021), Chairman, Loan Committee (KWSCOEC CTSU) (2002-2009), and President, Kwara State College of Education Cooperative and Thrift Society (2015-2018).
Dr. Jimoh Ahmed Ayinla has attended and made paper presentations at several International, National, and Local Conferences, Workshops, and Seminars. He attended and participated actively in a One-Week International Conference on “Fostering Quality Teaching in Higher Education Institutions – Policies and Best Practices" held in Birmingham, United Kingdom, from 30th-6th June 2016.
He has published many International and National Journals and Authored many standard Textbooks.
Dr. Jimoh Ahmed Ayinla is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).
He is the father of the ex Kwara State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Ahmed Fatimah Bisola, and former General Secretary of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Ilorin Branch, Engr. Ahmed Lekan Kazeem Jatto.
Dr. Jimoh Ahmed Ayinla is a football lover. He is married with four children.
Before he was appointed the Acting Provost of Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin on Friday 21st May 2021, he was the Deputy Provost (Administration) of the College.
