The monthly sanitation exercise across Kwara State has been reliably confirmed to hold this coming Saturday.
Mr. Okanlawon Taiwo, the Press secretary to the Kwara State Commissioner for Environment disclosed this in a statement made available to our medium.
The ministry noted in her press release that the monthly sanitation exercise for the month of August will hold on Saturday 28th, 2021 from 7:00 am to 9:00 am.
The statement also enjoined members of the public to fully participate in the sanitation exercise by cleaning their residential and business environments.
"Everybody is expected to stay at home to clean up their surroundings."
The monitoring agencies will be on ground to monitor compliance and it will be strictly observed across all the 16 Local Government Areas in the State, the statement says.
The ministry also noted that there will be no vehicular and human movement except those on essential services.
"Violators of Environmental Laws during the sanitation exercise would be tried and sanctioned by Mobile Courts stationed at designated points across the State." It added.
"Waste management trucks will be on the street for waste collection and disposal to the the final dumpsite during the exercise in the Ilorin metropolis."
