Kwara South Youth under the auspices of Kwara South Youth Development Organization (KWAYORG) on Monday met with the Kwara State Commissioner Of Police, CP Emienbo Tuesday Assayamo to discuss the spate of insecurity and other crime related challenges ravaging its region.
The President of the Organization, Barrister Titilope Akogun who led the team described Kwara South as a region known for its peaceful co - existence over the time past, which recently is gradually becoming a safe haven for Kidnappers or other criminals to perpetrate their evils atrocities.
The President made references to all forms of kidnaps that happened recently in the region and which eventually led to payment of all sort of ransoms, while others lost their lives.
He affirmed the need for security agencies in the state to re - stratergize on the situation to curtail the menace decisively.
Recall that the Organization held its Annual General Meeting yesterday 29th August 2021, at Igbomina House, Ganmo, in Ifelodun Local Government, where germaine issues concerning insecurity, Job creation, employment opportunities and leadership engagement were decisively discussed.
Meanwhile, the team commended the efforts of the Police so far in ensuring that kwara remains a peaceful state, citing example with the KWASU Student who recently regained her freedom from the abductors due to the prompt efforts of the police and the state government.
Such energy can also be channelled across the nooks and crannies of the state, they added.
The Commissioner Of Police described the steps taken by the youthful body as a rightful one and a very good course.
‘’We appreciate that you recognize our efforts, and we assure you that we won't relent in ensuring that Kwara State remain peaceful’’.
He said we are already putting in place effective security structures to decisively deal with all forms of criminalities, insecurities and its likes.
The CP charged the Team to also come up with sensitization on drug abuse, security awareness and likes, assuring them of good synergy and good interphase with his men.
He said, ‘’we are always ready to assist you in other to combat crimes, we are going to be partners in progress in driving away criminals from kwara South and the state at large’’.
Other Member of the team present were; Saeed Tijjani, Adebayo Kayode and Ogundele Kehinde.
