As political parties and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continue their preparation for 2023 general elections, thousands of Lagos State residents have expressed their readiness to reelect Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu due to his outstanding performance across sectors.
They gave this hint in an opinion poll conducted by Image Impression Limited between August and September 2021.
According to the poll result released on Saturday, 142,500 Lagos residents drawn from 20 local government and 37 local council development areas participated in the apolitical poll.
The respondents comprising 2500 from each local government/LCDA rated Sanwo-Olu's performance high in health, economy, infrastructure, security, employment generation, transportation, education, environment and sports.
The respondents include professionals across board, transporters, artisans, civil servants, students and traders who have participated in previous elections in the state.
The poll indicates that 82 percent of the respondents are willing to reelect Governor Sanwo-Olu and his acceptance cut across almost all strata of the society.
The poll further shows that 80.2 percent of the respondents are not card carrying members of any political party, this lay credence to the objectivity and apolitical nature of the two-month long study.
