FEATURED: Sanwo-Olu And His Strategic Investment In Security




Lagos State is the commercial hub of Nigeria and the state continue to attract thousands of people from across the country as well as abroad. The state is also an emerging megacity with population of over five million residents. 

Lagos therefore needs beyond infrastructure to accommodate growing population as security of lives and properties will make its safe for residents, tourists and investors. No wonder, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu since inception of his administration has been spending huge fund on security architecture of the state. He provided patrol vehicles and motorcycles for security operatives in the state. The progressive minded Governor also constructed some Police Commands and befitting  Administrative block for three Police Area Commands. He has also provided logistics and gadgets for digital security of the state.

Sanwo-Olu administration within two years constructed New office of the Citizens’ Mediation Centre  in each senatorial districts in order to ensure communal peace and tranquility. 

The Governor has also incorporated alternative security strategy to keep the state secured. He is making Lagos safer for residents, thereby pushing criminal elements out of the state.

Below are some of Governor Sanwo-Olu's milestones in area of Security management


Provided 120 Patrol Vehicles and 35 Motorcycles for the use of Security Operatives in Lagos State

Completed Area ‘L’ Police Command, Ilashe, Lagos 

Completed New office of the Citizens’ Mediation Centre  (CMC) inaugurated at Ojo LG  

Completed and commissioned New office of the Citizens’ Mediation Centre  (CMC) inaugurated at Iba LCDA

Completed and commissioned New office of the Citizens’ Mediation Centre  in Ikorodu

Completed  Area ‘J’ Police Command, Elemoro in Ibeju-Lekki LG

Renovated the library at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Panti, Yaba.

Established Forensic Toxicology & Chemistry Section and Enhancement of Security and other sections of Lagos State DNA & Forensic Centre: Phase 2 by Turnkey Project

Deployed District Prosecutors to three Magisterial Districts of Ebute-Metta, Ogba and Ikorodu, as part of a pilot scheme to decongest dockets of Magistrates in the State.

Embarked on the implementation of gradual phase out of Lay-Police prosecutors at Magistrate Courts in the State.

Special Taskforce on Land Grabbers received over 200 [two hundred) petitions, resolved 80 [eighty] while 20 matters are in Court, where alleged Land Grabbers are currently being prosecuted. 

Domestic Violence and Sexual Response Team [DSVRT] attended to 319 cases involving adults and 485 cases involving children and organised training for 400 newly recruited teachers on safeguarding and child protection.
Similarly, the Public Advisory Centre, received monetary claims of N3, 684.666 on behalf of claimants, whilst the Directorate of Citizen’s Rights instituted cases in the National Industrial Court where 7 Claimants were awarded N21, 352,319 as terminal benefits from their various organizations.
Provided first aid kits to operatives of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) to enable the prompt provision of initial first-aid treatment to victims of road and other unforeseen accidents in the State


Provision of standard Police Interview Room with recording equipment at the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja.
