Eid-el-Kabir: Osun NSCDC Deploys 1457 Officers




The Osun State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 1,457 officers as part of its readiness to combat crimes and make sure there is adequate protection for the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

The Command also assured that its efforts to step up operational strategies to fulfil the mandates of the Corps, all prayer grounds would be effectively provided with adequate security during the festival.

The Osun NSCDC Commandant, Sunday Agboola made this known in a press statement signed by the Command Spokesperson, Atanda Olabisi on Friday.

In the statement, Agboola urged the Muslim faithful to use the opportunity of Eid-el-Kabir celebrations to pray for the country.

The Osun NSCDC boss assured the public that the Command has deployed adequate personnel to all entry points in the state, praying grounds, recreation centres and other public places across the state of Osun to ensure the safety of lives and property.

“The command would continue to perform its statutory mandates of protecting the critical national assets and infrastructure.

“Patrol vehicles have been put in place to prevent crimes, personnel have been deployed to residential areas, recreational and resort centres and around critical national assets and infrastructure in the state.”

While emphasising that there would be collaborations with other security agencies to ensure that the celebration is peaceful, he assured members of the public that personnel deployed will discharge their duties with a high level of professionalism and dedication.

He wished all Muslim faithful across the state a wonderful and hitch-free celebration, he charged members of the public to be security-conscious and report any suspicious movement to the authorities for immediate intervention.

“All residents of Osun State should go about their lawful businesses and enjoy their celebrations, as officers and men of the Corps are adequately and strategically on the ground to protect lives and property.

“I appeal to the public to always give proactive intelligence to the nearest security agency in their environment.

“Security is everybody’s business, and everybody’s business should be taken as a serious business.”
