The Program Manager Adamawa Branch of the Nigeria COVID-19 and Recovery Economy Stimulus known as NG-cares Result Area 3 Hajiya Aishatu Bawa Bello has flagged the enumeration of IT grant support equipment to the first batch of the beneficiaries from 2 point 8 Billions Naira released by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to cushion the hardship faced by both the vulnerable groups , Small and Micro Scale Business Interprises as a result of COVID-19 PANDEMIC in the State.
The flag off of NG-cares Result Area 3 and enumeration of the beneficiaries took place at Women Development Centre Adamawa State as first beneficiaries converged to enumerate themselves for the gesture.
The programme manager disclosed that the online process took them over one and the half year to carefully monitor and screened out about 565 beneficiaries across the 21 local government areas who are into different businesses to enable them get their individual data and captured them before the flagoff exercise.
According to her, the event meant for those who are into Information and Communication Technology ICT businesses to help them run their business even at their comfort zones as equipment will be given to them free of charge by the State Government to improve on their livelihoods and advised them to make proper used of the gesture in transforming the economy as well by changing the name of Adamawa from Civil servant to business oriented State.
To ensure sustainability of the programme in the State the Manager said NG-cares have a monitoring team that will go round to supervise and monitor the beneficiaries in their various business centres to see for themselves how they are utilizing the equipment given to them which according to her if turn positive result will attract Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to engage more youth that will go a long way to reduce rate of unemployment in the State.
The State Coordinator NG-CARES Mr. Kwaji Duguri said the 2 point 8 billion for NG-cares Result 3 Area aimed at supplementing Micro Small Interprises with grant, adding that one of the priority of this present Administration under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is to better the lives by fighting poverty among the youths.
He said to compliments the efforts of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri participant's are to rise and show positive results in their respectives businesses as they were carefully identified and lauded the level of state steering Committee and State coordinating units for finishing the ground running process adding that very soon the independent verification unit from Abuja will visit to state to see the level of support giving to the beneficiaries and used the medium to advised them to be faithful when they were given grant of IT Equipment by using the opportunity to create more Jobs in revolutionizing Adamawa State into commercial home Centre.
In his keynote address, the guest speaker Honorable Commissioner Ministry Of Entrepreneurship Development Mr.James Iliya said the NG-CARES Adamawa State is partnering with Bank Of Industry BOI towards achieving common goals .
Honorable James Iliya described the gesture as first in the history of Adamawa to provide IT equipment and to Small and Micro enterprises urged them to make proper used of the gesture for the speedy of economy growth in the State Adding that out of about twenty three thousand that applied for the grant only 565 were successful identify and enumerated advised them to take the gesture done to them by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri by complimenting his efforts by turning Adamawa into business oriented State.
Representative of Bank Of Industry ( BOI) Partnering NG-cares programme Mrs Suzan Omiete congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to comply by providing them with effective data concerning their individual businesses ranging from Name, account Number, BVN and other relevant information concerning them for proper enumeration to enable them get their grant hitch free.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries Bashiru Hamidu Amidu thanked the State Government for the gesture and promised to sustain the gesture by improving on their respectives businesses.
