A Nigerian woman based in Canada has been declared the winner of the Ingersoll Town councillorship election in Canada.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa who is the chairperson of the Nigerians in diaspora commission (NiDCOM) disclosed this via her verified Twitter handle.
“I just want to say congratulations to all the winners tonight. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to represent Ingersoll, and I look forward to doing this with heart and all the dedication and devotion to this duty that you deserve.
“So thank you, and yes we have a voice. We did it. We won,” she said.
Mrs. Halliru thanks those that played key roles in her emergence and promises to work tirelessly toward the development of the people she is representing.
Daily Nigerian newspaper gathered that Mrs. Khadija Halliru has relocated to Canada 6 years ago, and she was able to establish a legitimate business and have a good relationship with the people around her.
