Ace Journalist, Abdulrasheed Shoboi Akogun has stepped aside as Publisher of the popular Kwara-based news platform, Fresh Insight.
This development is coming shortly after his appointment into the media directorate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) 2023 campaign council.
Abdulrasheed in a statement seen by 9japarrot Media said his stepping down as Fresh Insight publisher is to avoid a clash of interest and to equally do justice to the journalism ethics.
The statement reads;
“There are no goodbyes for us, wherever you are, you will always be in my heart” - Mahatma Ghandi
The Fresh Insight Media conglomerate is a brand for which I have sacrificed my comfort, wants, needs relationships, and even aspirations just to grow for the last 8 years of its existence. it’s a clear definition of ‘when there is a will, there’ll always be a way.
I and the entirety of the Fresh Insight team, have tried to the best of our ability and capability to uphold and sustain the founding principle of the brand, which is to build a fearless news outlet, that’ll fight corrupt, governmental malfeasance and its tendencies head-on, with the time-tested Investigative Journalism zeal never seen before in Kwara State and environs.
The past 8 years have seen the brand grow from an infant, into a colossal behemoth, that now sends shivers down the spines of anti-masses tendencies and their apologists.
However, there comes a time to move forward. I have sadly come to that juncture and move on I must, in the interest of the dearly beloved brand and total avoidance of ‘clash of interests.
As I move forward to resume duties as the Deputy Director (Media) at the Kwara State Social Democratic Party Gubernatorial Campaign Organization, I enjoin my friends, colleagues, partners, and all and sundry to help keep the Fresh Insight dream flying.
