The People's Democratic Party Senatorial candidate in Kwara North, Hon. Adamu Isa Bawa has emerged as the preference of voters in the district ahead of the 2023 general elections.
This development is contained in a statement issued by the analysis of an online opinion poll by 9japarrot Digital Media and Communications to determine the preferred senatorial candidate of Kwara North indigenes and residents.
Five Kwara senatorial candidates were featured in the Online poll that run for 72 hours. The candidates include Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and incumbent senator, Adamu Isa Bawa of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Bio Hon Aliru of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Abdulkadir Attahiru Adamu Manko of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Dr. Kolo Baba Jiya of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
The final results released early hours of Tuesday 8th, November 2022 shows 49.68% of Kwara Northerners prefer and would vote for Hon. Adamu Isa Bawa of PDP as Kwara North Senator comes 2023 election, while the incumbent Senator, Sen. Sadiq Suleiman Umar of the APC came second in the poll with 26.69%.
Unlike the other polls we've been conducting, this win by Adamu Isa Bawa is the first-ever win by the major opposition party, the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
The candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Abdulkadir Attahiru Adamu Manko came a distant third with 15.59% while his runner up Dr. Kolo Baba Jiya of NNPP had 7.56%
Followed by a candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bio Hon Aliru who's the least preferred candidate with 0.48% votes.
Respondents of the survey carried out between midnight on November 5th to 11:59 pm on 7th November were asked a single question, who would they prefer as the next Senator of Kwara North in 2023: with an option to choose between the 5 major contenders as listed above.
No fewer than 622 people participated with respondents spreading across the 5 Local Governments of the senatorial district which includes; Baruten, Edu, Pategi, Kaiama, and Moro
The survey was carried out through an online poll platform (Strawpoll) with a high response rate.
Similarly, the results from the poll showed that Adamu Isa Bawa started leading at the beginning of the poll all through to the end of the poll, where the APC candidate started as the 4th and later moved to the 2nd towards the third day of the poll. The SDP candidate started as the 2nd at the beginning of the poll but ended as the third position.
The ADC candidate was in the least position all through the poll.
Adamu Isa Bawa against all odds maintained the number one position from the beginning to the end of the poll.
The NNPP candidate, Kolo Baba Jiya of NNPP maintained his fourth place throughout.
Adamu Isa Bawa polled the highest vote with wide distance as he's the only one with 49.68% out of 100% against his runner-up, Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar who polled a distant 26.69%
The poll survey posted on our official Facebook page also generated over 60 plus comments and 80 plus several shares, the post also reached over 11,000 plus people which is an indication that Kwarans in the North senatorial district are on the look to access all senatorial candidates with clarity.
The majority of the comments under the post also tally with the poll results as most confirmed that they will go for Adamu Bawa Isa for his vision for a better, fairer, more responsible, and impactive representation for Kwara North.

Adamu Isa Bawa's candidacy is indeed a major threat to other contenders as the poll result projected him as the choice of the majority who participated in the Online poll.
