Meet Ghanim Al-Muftah, Qatar's FIFA World Cup Hero

Ghanem Al-Muftah, 20, was born on May 5, 2002 in Qatar with a rare condition known as Caudal Regression Syndrome, affecting the development of the lower half of the body.

Many suggested his mother abort Ghanim but she decided to have him: “I will be his left leg and you will be his right leg,” she said. When his mother wanted to admit him to many schools for primary education. Rejected and the last school they finally managed to get admission there children refused to play with him because of disability.

Ghanim Al-Muftah is a leading motivational speaker in Qatar and also the owner of a company named Gharesa_Ice Cream (Qatar's youngest entrepreneur) which has 6 branches in Qatar and around 60 workers.

With the support of his family, Ghanam also founded Al-Ghanam Foundation, a welfare organization that ensures wheelchair delivery to disabled people around the world. Ghanim Al-Muftah has been blessed to perform Umrah on his hands without a wheelchair in 2017.

He plays multiple sports despite physical disabilities. At school, Ghanim used to play football wearing shoes on his hands and would chase after the ball with his "normal-sized" friends. Besides football he also dives and showed the essence of diving up to 200 meters in the sea.

Rather than allowing the condition to stunt his life, Ghanim has learned to overcome obstacles with positivity. He is currently pursuing his university degree, majoring in political sciences with a goal of becoming a diplomat.

He starred alongside Morgan Freeman and recited the Quran in the Qatar World Cup 2022 opening ceremony which was shown on 500 major channels of the world and for the first time in history. Talking about their rights after being banned in Qatar, Qatar has made its priorities clear by opening a disabled reader by uplifting disabled people around the world. However, *BBC* censored this inspirational individual during Qatar World Cup Opening Ceremony.
