Residents of Isin Local Government were treated to a rare sight yesterday as the Young Progressive Party (YPP) Gubernatorial Candidate for Kwara State, Waziri Yakubu Gobir (Aláànú Mẹ̀kúnnù) made a stop in their community.

The tour, which was in the company of his campaign team, party stakeholders and other candidates under the YPP was greeted by a crowd of excited supporters.

Gobir who is running for the state office, addressed the council of the community's traditional rulers led by the Olusin of Isanlu Isin, Oba (Dr) Solomon Oluwagbemiga Oloyede Atobalete II, Ilufemiloye and shared his vision for the state's future. "I believe that every community, no matter how big or small, deserves to have a strong voice in their government," he informed the traditional rulers in attendance. "That is why I am running for office, and I am grateful to be able to come to Isin today and share my message with all of you,” he added.

Other traditional rulers present at the meeting were the Olowu of Owu-isin, Oba Gabriel Adewoye; Eledidi of Edidi, Oba Gabriel Kolawole; Onigbin of Oke-Onigbin, Oba Salaudeen kamaldeen; Oniwo of Iwo-Odoore, Oba. The meeting with the kings was just one of many on his schedule as he worked to drum up support and get his message out to voters in Isin LG. He also met with the Isin Council of Imams led by Sheikh Sulayman Abdussalam and the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Isin Local Government branch under Matthew Adebayo Aremu.

In his usual philanthropic-style, the Madawaki of Ilorin rounded off his visit to Isin with a donation of One Million Naira to the construction of the Pamo-Isin Community Market.
