MWEC Organizes Mathematics Competition For Nigerian Students

•Nationwide 3rd Edition Result To be Released Tomorrow

A nongovernmental organization known as Maths Wizard Educational Consults (MWEC) has organized National Mathematics Wizard Competition to mark its annual schedule activities for Nigerian Students who have an interest in mathematics.

Speaking with the Founder of the Organization, Comr. Murtala Saheed Olalekan said; the mission of the group is to improve the interest and passion for Mathematics in Nigerian young learners.

The group was co-founded by Amb. Nurudeen Kawata Maria also expressed its mission to contribute in Nation building by eliminating and reducing the phobia of mathematics in Nigerian young learners.

The group held the preliminary stages of the 3rd Edition of the MWEC Competition on the 11th of February 2023 across the 36 states in Nigeria.

The competition cut across the Lower basic 2-3, Upper Basic 4-6, Junior Secondary 2-3, and Senior Secondary 2-3 categories.

According to the group; 

Emmanuel Efekolan a primary 3 pupil of J. C HOG int. School Rivers state came first position in Lower Primary, winning 100k cash prize, plague, medal, and merit certificate. Jafar Abdularahman of An Nujoom Basic School Ilorin Kwara state emerged in 3rd position in the Upper basic category, winning 50k cash price, a plague, medal, and a merit certificate while Aliu Daniel Ameh of Faith Academy Lokoja, in Kogi State, emerged 2nd position, winning 70k cash price, a plague, medal, and a merit certificate.

MWEC also noted that it will release the results of the 3rd Edition for the higher category Nationwide tomorrow, 11th March 2023.

1st- #100,000-Plaque medal-e-cert 

2nd- #70,000+ Plaque-medal-e-cert

3rd- #50,000+ Plaque-medal-e-cert

4th & 5th - #10,000+ medal-e-cert

6th-10th-#10,000+e-cert

11th-20th-#5,000

Also, Cash prizes for Mathematics Teachers of 1st-3rd in each category.

The organization led by Prof. Omipidan Bashiru of the Better by Far University, the University of Ilorin as the grand patron said it will keep doing everything within her reach to keep contributing to the Nigerian educational system.
