The Nigerian Police Command in Katsina State has killed five suspected terrorists.
Police spokesman Abubakar Aliyu confirmed this in a statement on Sunday in Katsina.
Aliyu said one Abubakar Idris, 18, a suspected bandit, was arrested, while five others were killed.
He also revealed that 38 cows, 40 sheep, and 65 goats were recovered at the terrorists’ camps.
According to the policeman, in an intelligence-led operation, the team raided and cleared bandits’ camps in the two affected local governments.
“The operation was led by the Command’s Officer in Charge of the Anti-kidnapping Unit and that of the Special Investigations Bureau (SIB),” Aliyu said.
Aliyu noted that the team dislodged several notorious bandits’ camps at Marake, Garin Yara, and Garin Labo villages, all in Batsari local government.
He also stated that the team dislodged Audu Lankai’s camp, where a notorious bandit leader terrorised Jibia and its environs.
