President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the new leaders of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) and Progressive Governors Forum (PGF).
In a statement released by the State House on Thursday, President Tinubu congratulated Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State on his election as the new NGF chairman, and Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State on his election as the new PGF chairman.
President Tinubu also congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Senator Uba Sani of Kaduna State on their elections as deputy chairmen of the NGF and PGF, respectively.
The President described the new leaders as "seasoned politicians and experienced administrators" who are "well-equipped to lead their respective forums."
He urged the new leaders to use their positions to promote peace, unity, and development in Nigeria.
"I am confident that you will use your tenures to advance the peace, unity, and socioeconomic development of our country," President Tinubu said.
"I also urge you to join hands with my administration to engender the Renewed Hope agenda for a Nigeria that works for all."
The President expressed his confidence that the new leaders will "acquit themselves diligently" in discharging their responsibilities.
"I pray that you will be successful in your endeavors," he said.
